Who is Lab for?
Lab is a computer for AI and machine learning: local language models, image generation, model training and GPU compute. It suits Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI.
What does the number mean?
The number of a Lab model is its graphics memory in gigabytes: Lab 16 has 16 GB, for example. Graphics memory decides how large a language model fits on the computer. With 4-bit quantisation it fits:
- Lab 16: models up to about 20 billion parameters
- Lab 48: models up to about 70 billion parameters
- Lab 96: models up to about 120 billion parameters
What is inside a Lab PC?
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X.
- At least 64 GB of memory and an NVMe SSD of 2 TB or more.
